Greencroft Middlebury Stories
Dick and Jackie Looked for a Place to Remain Active
Dick and Jackie Hinckley discovered Greencroft Middlebury during a trip to the Blue Gate Theatre. Looking for a place to settle down and spend their later years, Greencroft Middlebury quickly rose to the top of their list.
"We liked that it is a smaller campus and really love the style of the buildings," says Dick. "The woodshop was a huge draw, too!"
After moving into their single-floor Independent Living home, both quickly found a place among the community.
"People are so friendly," Jackie says. "I got involved right away in many campus activities."
Dick works in the workshop almost daily. Jackie joined the campus's quilting groups. Both Dick and Jackie spend a lot of time in the Community Center just enjoying coffee and company. They enjoy going on bike rides down the Pumpkinvine Trail or work out in the Community Center when the weather is poor. "We feel free to walk around downtown, go to the library, or ride down the Pumpkinvine Trail. It's a safe and secure area."
Dick and Jackie have called Greencroft Middlebury home for almost five years and are looking forward to the many years to come.
