Job Description:

To manage the campus wide daily operation of the Food Service Department and to assure resident satisfaction with the services provided by the department. Serve as part of the Hamilton Grove Management Team.

Duties include:

  • Work in cooperation with the staff of the Healthcare areas of Hamilton Grove to assure that nutritional needs of the residents are being met.
  • Develop policies and procedures as needed and as directed.
  • Oversee the requisition of food items purchased.
  • Hire, orient, discipline and terminate involuntarily the staff of the Food Service Department.
  • Provide ongoing in-service program for staff on the use and care of equipment, meal preparation, safety, proper serving techniques and customer service.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must have documentation of one of the following credentials: Dietitian, College degree in Foods and Nutrition or equivalent and one year of experience, Graduate of a state approved course in Food Service Supervision and one year of experience, Graduate of a Dietetic Technician program approved by the American Dietetic Association (ADA), Graduate of a Dietetic assistant course approved by the ADA, or Other training and experience in Food Service supervision and management such as a military experience equivalent.
  • Experience working in a hospital, long term care facility or retirement community preferred.
  • Ability to use standard equipment used for food preparation, serving, and clean up.
  • Ability to use computer, calculator, copier, fax, telephone, radio, and other basic office equipment and communication devices.
  • Basic management skills of staffing, planning, organization and resource management.
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.

Job Description:

To maintain the grounds, facility, equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by your supervisor, to assure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times.

  • Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor.
  • Responsible for grounds upkeep which shall included but not be limited to removal of debris from streets, sidewalks and lawns.
  • Assist in removing snow from all walks and driveways around apartments, Villas and buildings of Golden Years
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.

Education & Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • HVAC Certification preferred

We are looking for someone who can pleasantly greet residents and visitors as the “first face” of our senior living community. Applicants are to have strong organizational and communication skills which are a must for our fast-paced work environment.

Duties include:

  • Oversee screening procedures to ensure that everyone entering the Welcome Center is appropriately cleared to be in the facility.
  • Answer and forward all incoming calls to the appropriate areas.
  • Maintain and revise forms or documents as required.
  • Organize and distribute mail to residents and departments.
  • Maintain resident, phone, mail forwarding and staff lists as needed.
  • Work with Business Office Manager and Staff Accountant in accepting resident payments, guest meal payments, as well as balancing and managing members cash & postage stock.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in long term care or a retirement community preferred.
  • Special interest in older adults and the aging population.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use internet service, email, general office equipment and communication devices.
  • Previous cash handling experience is required as well as being proficient in Math.

Schedule*:

  • Saturdays 10:00am to 4:00pm
  • Sundays 10:00am to 2:00pm

*In the Spring of 2025, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00am to 5:00pm will be added to the schedule.

Gina Martin

Employee Benevolence Fund

Gina Martin believes in paying it forward. She received help when she needed it, and now she helps others whenever she can. Gina began working for Greencroft Goshen five years ago. During her tenure, she experienced some personal problems of her own, including financial hardships. Her manager helped her apply for a gift from the Employee Benevolence Fund. Each campus has its own fund, managed by the Greencroft Communities Foundation, and the process to apply is straightforward. To be eligible, an employee must have worked at their campus at least one year. They must be in good standing with no disciplinary actions or excessive absences. “I was so grateful,” Gina said. “It helped me climb out of a hole.”
