Walnut Hills Retirement Community Welcomes New Leadership

Charity Yoder 2Walnut Hills Retirement Community is pleased to announce Charity Yoder as the new Vice President of Operations.

Yoder began her journey with Greencroft Communities with a strong desire to develop as a leader in senior housing. She participated in the Administrator in Training (AIT) program, a rigorous program that includes extensive study, training, and testing to become a licensed administrator in Ohio. As part of her leadership development, she gained experience across multiple Greencroft-affiliated communities, including Greencroft Middlebury and Southfield Village in South Bend, Indiana, where she expanded her perspective on senior living operations. However, the primary focus of her training was at Walnut Hills, allowing her to develop a deep understanding of the community, its residents, and its team members.

“I grew up fascinated by the life stories, philosophy of life, and wisdom of several older adult role models, so I started volunteering at a retirement community when I was in junior high school,” said Yoder. “Now becoming a Greencroft Communities team member allows me numerous new professional opportunities and most importantly mentors and team members with a passion for serving older adults.”

Recognizing the importance of strong leadership presence, Charity relocated to live closer to Walnut Hills, ensuring a greater connection to both the team and the residents she now serves.

“Charity’s dedication, expertise, and passion for our industry make her an exceptional leader to guide Walnut Hills into the future,” said Hugh Davis, CEO of Greencroft Communities. “We look forward to the innovation and excellence she will bring to our community in Walnut Creek.”

Yoder focused her undergraduate education on business administration and psychology with an emphasis in gerontology. She began her career at a Mennonite Continuing Care Retirement Community in Glendale, Arizona, before seeking her MA in Gerontology and Care Manager Certified designation. She was practicing as an Aging Life Care Manager™ in Wisconsin for several years before joining the Greencroft and Walnut Hills team.

“I look forward to serving in leadership at Walnut Hills alongside team members who share the vision and mission of Walnut Hills and strive each day to make it a meaningful and beautiful place to live,” added Yoder.
